YOU

Of course it's true everyone's born with a gift. One that will allow them to fill a special place in the Universe that absolutely no one else can fill. A blessing that makes all other blessings pale in comparison. A gift of incalculable value to the entire world when it's uncovered, explored and embraced.
Yours?
Being you.

WOW, you must have known someone really “high up”!

SLEEP

Some nights, nothing is more attractive than my bed: its fresh, clean cotton sheets enveloping me like a dune of fine white sand and its down-feather comforter leaving space for pockets of body heat to collect and nuzzle against my bare skin, while around me in the dark everything is hidden by velvety shadows that ease the transition between open and closed eyes, inviting me to drop my pressing eyelids and let a sequence of visual images begin to dance through my brain as the minty remnants of Colgate linger between my teeth, and cool air seeps in from the nearby window, a soothing contrast to my cozy warmth; as I stretch across the mattress, my limbs strive to find their perfect niches of comfort so that my body will just melt into a cohesive whole and slip away from my consciousness; this fluidity of the flesh forms a level of security that numbs my senses to sleep and refocuses my brain away from tangibility and toward a different dimension -- the realm of sweet, floating neurocycles: I am flying like a seagull, high above azure waves; looking down at my blushing, naked body after walking into a classroom full of people; biting into a giant mango, its ripe sticky juices running down my chin; laying enfolded in the arms of another warm body; these rapid eye movements suck me deeper into sleep, the state that all humans need to survive.

DIFFERENT DRUMS AND DIFFERENT DRUMMERS

If I do not want what you want, please try not to tell me that my want is wrong.

Or if I believe other than you, at least pause before you correct my view.

Or if my emotion is more than yours, or less, given the same circumstances, try not to ask me to feel more weakly or strongly.

Or yet if I act in some way other than your design for action, let me be.

I do not, for the moment at least, ask you to understand me. That will come only when you are willing to give up changing me into a copy of you.

I may be your spouse, your employee, your child, your parent, or your friend. If you will allow me any of my own wants, or emotions, or beliefs, or actions, then you open yourself, so that some day these ways of mine might not seem so wrong, and might finally appear to you as right- for me.

To put up with me is the first step to understanding me. Not that you embrace my ways as right for you, but that you are no longer irritated or disappointed with me for my seeming waywardness.

And in understanding me, you might come to prize my differences from you, and far from seeking to change them, you might preserve and even nurture those differences.

YOUR MIND

It's like there are countless
rooms in the mansion of your mind. Some lavishly appointed and others quite Spartan. Rooms bursting with their own creative energy that draw you into action. And others that make you feel frightened, or angry, or resentful the moment you’ve entered them. There are rooms that inspire hope and foster new relationships. And others filled with memories of what's already come
to pass and of dreams that never did.
And it's like the more time you spend in any given room, gazing from its windows, the more the outside world begins to justify, reinforce, and
in every case, resemble it.
And it's like most people just think they find themselves, at any given point in a day, in one room or another without ever realizing that every second of every day, they consciously choose which room to hang out in.

Really, dear, it is your house...

BLISS

Have you been there?
To that place of quiet bliss, of knowing that you're doing enough, wishing for nothing except what already is, exactly as it is, seeing the blue in the sky like you've never seen it before, watching a butterfly as if it appeared just for you, feeling so light that you're sure you could float, understanding the trials and tribulations of days gone by, and being glad for every single one of them, feeling so wrapped up in the present, that you couldn't care less about tomorrow, knowing that you're provided for, that the manifestation of your dreams is inevitable, and that the Universe flat-out adores you, reveres you, and wants for nothing, except to see your smile and hear
your laughter?

That's right, very good, dearest. You're there now

HOLD ON

Hold on tightly to what is truly important in life.
Hold on to faith; it is the source of believing that all things are possible. It is fiber and strength of a confident soul.
Hold on to hope; it banishes doubt and enables attitudes to be positive and cheerful.
Hold on to trust; it is at the core of fruitful relationships that are secure and content.
Hold on to love; it is life's greatest gift of all,for it shares, cares, and gives meaning to life.
Hold on to family and friends; they are the most important people in your life, and they make the world a better place. They are your roots and the beginnings that you grew from; they are the vine that has grown through time to nourish you, help you on your way, and always remain close by.
Hold on to all that you are and all that you have learned, for these things are what make you unique.
Don't ignore what you feel and what you believe is right and important; your heart has a way of speakinglouder than your mind.
Hold on to your dreams; achieve them diligently and honestly.Never take the easy way or surrender to deceit. Remember others on your wayand take time to care for their needs.
Have the courage to see things differently and clearly. Make the world a better place one day at a time, and don't let go of the important things that give meaning to your life.
